About the role

Our Legal & Compliance division have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Solicitor to join the team for a fixed period of 6 or 12 months.

Reporting to the Director, Legal, the Senior Solicitor will be a trusted legal advisor and provide high quality legal advice to enable Landcom to achieve its objectives. You will need to be proactive, bring a can-do attitude and demonstrate a keen interest in providing solutions to enable Landcom to achieve its objectives.

The Senior Solicitor’s duties will include:

  • Providing legal advice with respect to the range of Landcom’s operations, including in relation to capital transactions, market processes, development activities (including by our newly created built-form division delivering Build to Rent and Affordable Housing developments), dispute resolution and regulatory compliance.
  • Assisting the business to develop and structure transactions that will best achieve Landcom’s desired outcomes whilst mitigating Landcom’s risks. 
  • Educating the project teams and other business stakeholders on the legal aspects of Landcom’s activities
  • Managing Landcom’s external lawyers and probity advisors to ensure that the services provided are efficient and relevant to the business.
  • Assisting in the training and mentoring of Solicitors and Paralegals.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in law and eligibility for admission as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. 
  • Substantial experience in proving property and/or construction law advice and drafting/negotiating complex property and/or project related documents.
  • High-level written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence and engage with key stakeholders.
  • Exposure to construction, planning, tax and litigation within the property development context.
