Job Description

About the opportunity

Due to business growth, Landcom have multiple Permanent opportunities available for Development Manager's (DM) to join our Development Team.

As a Development Manager at Landcom, you will work alongside your Development Director, supporting our Senior Development Managers and broader project team, to drive the successful development of new thriving, sustainable, walkable and connected communities across New South Wales, which may include project areas including; Glenfield, Sydney Metro North-West, Claymore, Airds, and/or Edmondson Park.


The DM is responsible for:

  • managing aspects of the delivery for one or more designated development projects, including acquisition, masterplanning, rezoning, construction, sales, marketing and financial control.
  • Preparing briefs, review tenders and appoint, direct and manage consultants and contractors to specific projects within delegated authority limits.
  • In conjunction with the Senior Development Manager’s, monitor and influence the progress of rezonings, planning approvals, Development Control Plans, VPAs and WIKAs and Environment Protection measures.
  • Delivering financial returns and meet project milestones for specific development projects, in accordance with the current Statement of Corporate Intent.
  • Demonstrating innovation and deliver high quality project outcomes.
  • Prepare project reporting requirements

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on creating a great place to live, and influence best practise urban design, affordable housing, diverse housing and sustainability.

To succeed in this role, the successful applicant will require relevant technical skills, and will also need to be proactive, bring a can-do attitude and demonstrate a keen interest in providing solutions to enable Landcom to achieve its objectives.

Please note that this role will be based out of our Parramatta Head Office and will require regular travel to other relevant work sites as required.


About you

Ideally you will have the following experience:

  • Managing development projects including approvals and project works to ensure agreed outcomes
  • Engaging and managing consultants and contractors, including preparing briefs and tenders, reviewing and assessing tenders, and contract and performance management to deliver land or property development projects
  • Managing project management processes and governance frameworks to monitor a project’s performance
  • Reporting against performance metrics for land and property development projects, including financial feasibility models, project programs and other agreed project strategies, plans and outcomes
  • Experience working with a range of professionals, technical disciplines and key stakeholders, including state and local government
  • Strong communication skills including problem solving, negotiation, presentation, dispute resolution and influencing
  • Tertiary qualifications in architecture, engineering, project management, construction, property or related areas
